Privacy Policy
Morphologos is a Bible reading and original-language study app for iOS, in English and Hungarian. This page explains what the app collects, why, where it goes, and how to delete it. The short version: we store what the app needs to work, on servers we run ourselves. No ads, no tracking, no selling data.
What we collect
The Bible text itself (World English Bible and Károli) is bundled with the app, so reading works offline without sending anything anywhere.
When you sign in — with Apple on iOS, or Google on Android — we create an account that holds:
- Name and email address, as shared by your Apple or Google account.
- Account identifiers, including the identifier supplied by the sign-in provider and an internal user ID, so we can authenticate and protect your account.
- A profile photo, only if you choose to add one from your photo library.
- Your country, optional, used to place you in the community feed.
- Your language preference (English or Hungarian).
As you use the app, we also store:
- Reading activity — your last-read position, reading streaks, favorites, and reading-plan progress, so they stay in sync and survive a reinstall.
- Subscription and usage information — your plan, subscription status and expiry, Apple transaction identifier, and AI token usage, so we can validate purchases, restore access, prevent receipt reuse, and enforce the plan's usage limits. Apple handles your payment details; we do not receive your card or bank information.
- Community content — posts you choose to share to the feed (AI conversations you publish) and your friend connections.
- Private Ask conversations — your questions and the AI answers are stored on Morphologos servers under your account so your conversation history can be maintained. They are not shown to other users unless you explicitly publish a conversation as a community post.
- Diagnostic logs — the app sends its console logs and crash reports to our server so we can find and fix bugs. These logs may incidentally contain snippets of your activity in the app, such as which screen you were on when something failed.
How we use it
To run the app, and for nothing else. Your account identifies you; your reading activity keeps your place, streaks, and plans in sync; your posts are shown to other users because you chose to share them; diagnostic logs help us fix bugs. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.
AI processing (the Ask feature)
When you ask a question in the Ask feature, the conversation content is sent through the OpenRouter API to an AI model provider to generate the answer — that is what makes the feature work. Every Morphologos AI request is restricted to a Zero Data Retention endpoint and denies provider data collection. The AI provider may process the content only to return the requested answer; it may not retain the prompt or response or use it for training or product improvement. OpenRouter prompt logging and input/output data sharing are not enabled. OpenRouter retains request metadata such as token counts, latency, model, and provider, but not the content of the prompt or response.
Morphologos itself stores the private conversation content and any community post you choose to publish on its own servers. We use this content only to provide the conversation, sharing, safety, and account features. We do not use it to train an AI model, for advertising, or for profiling. If you never use Ask, no conversation content is sent to an AI provider.
No ads, no tracking, no sale of data
Morphologos contains no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party analytics SDKs. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone. Apart from Apple sign-in and payments, and the AI processing described above, your data stays on servers we operate ourselves.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your account data while your account exists, except where a longer period is required for security, fraud prevention, accounting, or legal compliance. You can delete your account in the app: Profile → account settings → Delete account. This removes your deletable account data from our servers. OpenRouter and the selected model provider do not retain prompt or response content under the zero-data-retention routing described above. They may retain non-content request metadata under their own policies. If something doesn't work as expected, email us and we'll take care of it.
Security
All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
Children
Morphologos is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date at the top.
